DMU Students Showcase Industry-Ready Talent at MCM Comic Con EGX London 2026
Last weekend, staff and students from De Montfort University exhibited student work at MCM Comic Con EGX London, one of the UK’s largest gaming conventions. Across all three days of the event, members of the public were able to play-test student game demos created by Games Production and Games Programming students, alongside view a wide range of traditional, digital, and 3D artwork produced by students from all years of the Game Art course. The exhibition featured game-ready characters, creatures, vehicles, and environments presented within Unreal Engine 5.

Plus everyone else involved in organising the trip and exhibition, as well as to all the students whose hard work made the showcase possible. We could not have done it without you!
As part of the event, students from all years of the Games courses were invited to the opening of Comic Con on the Friday. The trip provided an excellent opportunity for both networking and rest for students after long blocks of hard work. Throughout the weekend, DMU staff and student ambassadors continued to exhibit student work while speaking with attendees, prospective students, parents, and industry professionals.
Game Art's Programme Leader Craig Mooney and lecturer Jesse Olchawa also had the chance to reconnect with several DMU alumni during the event, including Cristina Ji, Finn Moffat, and Grace Natvara U. Cristina, known online as “Sunfwer,” ran her fantastic digital art booth at the convention, and also hosted a panel discussing how artists are impacted by social media.
With over 100,000 attendees to the convention we want to thank everyone who visited the DMU booth and supported our students’ work. We hope to return next year with even more work to showcase, if you would like to see more student projects be sure to visit our upcoming Degree Show to see work live in person this coming June 24th to 27th 2026.
